So about a year ago I had this crazy idea to replace the sad, broken lamp in my living room with something a little more my style. Something a little more boho, a little more funky, a little more me. I looked and looked and looked online and while I found some ridiculously awesome ones on Etsy and amazon, they were either WAAAAY more than I wanted to spend or they just weren't quite right. I sent out a call on my Facebook to have my friends and family keep their eyes peeled at flea ... Read the Post

My 2016 Personalized Planner
Lately, I've been noticing how popular Specialized Planners have become. You can find them all over in stores and online in almost any color or size... with places to doodle, write scriptures, you name it. I am a list maker, a planner and a person who likes to stay organized. I've used planners for years and I'm picky. I know exactly what I want. I'm also simple and don't want or need a big fancy planner. I need a month at a glance, thin, big ... Read the Post
Princess Wands, Tiaras and Necklaces – OH MY!
My daughter turned 4 a couple of months ago and we celebrated with a princess party. This was such a huge hit and required so little preparation on my part for the crafting goodness. In fact I purposefully bought a couple of supplies that could be used for several crafts. The only time consuming part was the painting of these wooden beads ahead of time, which could easily be remedied by buying colored beads instead of plain wooden ones! Below are affiliate links to all the exact supplies I ... Read the Post

Creating a Garden Stepping Stone
Every one in my family thinks of me when they see Red Toile dishes. It's my thing. (one can never have too many right?) So... when my daughter saw a set of Red Toile dishes on clearance for $25 at her local thrift store she immediately called me to see if I wanted them. (um, yes!) While packing the car for their visit home, my son in law picked up the box to rearrange the car and the bottom fell out. Most of the dishes survived. Five of the large plates did ... Read the Post
Waterscape Candle Holders – West Elm Knock Off
Here we are again back with another fun knock off. As some of you have seen I've got a lot of fun built ins, in my house and one of the things I've struggled with is having fun and interesting things to put on them. Today's knock off is such a cool technique and I can't wait to use it on a few other things in the future. The original inspiration was this really pretty watercolor candle holder from West Elm. Now while $6 isn't too bad I knew I could do better. I started off with a few of ... Read the Post
Easy $1 Printable Pencil Valentines
So I might be a little late to the Valentine's party (it's only January people!), but this project will take you less time than an episode of Dexter. By the way, it's totally my husband and my favorite show right now (thanks Netflix) and we have blazed through 6 seasons in a month! Don't ruin it for me if you know how it ends though!! Okay, back to Valentine's Day. I touched on my annoyance with over the top holiday exchanges back around Halloween, but in case you missed it and you don't ... Read the Post
Spooky Halloween Treats
Okay here's the deal, I love Halloween so much that I might go out on a limb and say it is my very favorite holiday. However (because saying "but" is rude) I can't get on board with the candy shop craze. I love those uber creative Halloween treats that you see floating around on Pinterest as much as the next girl (or guy), but with three kids at home, school meetings, snack mom duties, laundry/dishes/dinner routine at my own house and let's not forget the good old raising of children, I don't ... Building A Safety Fence (aka don’t let the children die on my watch)
So many of you might remember that we moved into our "forever home" about a month ago. One of the first things we knew we needed to address were the outdoor basement stairs with a safety fence. I lovingly refer to them as the basement stairs of doom! See what I mean! Crazy unsafe!! They were originally 1" plumbing pipe placed strategically around the 10' drop off to the concrete basement stairs. Totally acceptable for adults, but for the three little people running wild around here, not ... Read the Post
