Happy Friday Friends! This week around my house has been insane! We had a CRAZY wind storm on Tuesday and were without power for about 10 hours total. And we were the lucky ones! My dad/sister/brother have all been without power since Tuesday at their houses. We had about 165,000 without power and are down to around 120,000 at last estimate. Many down power lines, trees and sadly, lives lost. School and work closed and a lot of sitting around and hanging out! Ya, It has been insane. So ... Read the Post

How is this possible, you might ask, well luck you I am going to share the recipe with you right here so you can see for yourself! This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #BakeInTheFun #CollectiveBias With my kids heading back to school and temperatures dipping down into the 50's it's definitely feeling like fall these days. I am not a huge baker, but my sister is, and since she has been staying with us we've been getting down and dirty in the kitchen more and more. She is totally a from scratch kind of baker, whereas I like to semi-homemake things. ... Read the Post
6 Ingredient Basic Guacamole Recipe!
So it's been awhile since I reminded you last about my love of dips and Mexican food. Honestly I can't believe I haven't shared my guacamole recipe with you before, because it is seriously one of my favorites. I like to put it on breakfast sandwiches in the morning, eat it with chips for lunch and then smoother it on top of grilled meats for dinner. Really there isn't a meal that couldn't benefit from some guacamole in my opinion! A while back I tried to convince my hubby to let me grow an ... Read the Post

Baked Salmon in Puff Pastry
So my hubby works for a local seafood company and so he is constantly bringing me home fresh (like was swimming in the ocean this morning) seafood. This seems like it would be a good thing (and it is), but for a girl that spent 9 years as a vegetarian I have no idea what to do with it all! Of course this leads me to both pinterest and google (btw...i seriously love google, i joke about how without google i wouldn't have made it through grad school...well maybe it's not really a joke, but ... Family Secret Tahini Recipe
So my family loves dips. It probably has something to do with the fact that we spend every Sunday watching 12 hours of football and eating "football" food, which is almost always chips, dip, wings and nachos! Now I will admit, before I met my hubby I had never had tahini...I mean it sounds a little weird, and in my opinion the stuff you get straight from the jar is GROSS! But after his mom made it for me, I was hooked! It is seriously soooo good, and it has such a unique flavor combination ... Read the Post
Crock Pot Clam Chowder – Yum!
I love warm and hearty soups in the fall and winter and now that my dear hubby is working in a seafood processing warehouse we get A LOT of fresh from the ocean seafood! I have had a couple of vacuum packed bags of fresh razor clams in my fridge since Friday and I wasn't sure what we were going to do with them. Usually we just saute them and eat them plain, but I wanted to get creative with this batch! I found this really easy looking recipe for clam chowder and thought I would give it a go! ... Pork Tortilla Soup
I have a confession…I love easy dinners. Like stupid easy. Like if my children knew how to work the can opener they could make this dinner, easy. It came from this cookbook that I have had for enough years now that I don’t even remember where I got it, but you can get it on Amazon. The cookbook is Betty Crocker Come Home To Dinner: 350 Delicious Recipes For The Slow Cooker, Bread Machine, And Oven. It has so many delicious and wonderfully easy recipes for people like me who want to look ... Read the Post
