One of the items I sell in my Etsy shop is custom tile coasters. I recently did a giveaway with Izzy B Designs and the winner wanted a couple of sets of custom tile coasters. I started by getting the images ready in Photoshop.
I am by no means a master of Photoshop, but I love having the ability to create really fun designs and edit photos! I sent the images off to staples to be printed, my printer at home has been acting up and I don’t have the time or energy to try and figure out what it needs. After getting the images (they turned out so beautiful!) I trimmed them down to 4″ x 4″ and got them ready to adhere to the tiles.
I applied a layer of mod podge to each tile and then placed the deisgn on the tile. I waited a couple of hours until that layer was dry and then applied another layer of mod podge over the top of the design. I applied 2-3 layers on each tile.
After the last layer was dry I took them outside and sprayed each one with a clear acrylic sealer so that they wouldn’t get ruined by drinks sweating on them! This coat helps make them water resistant!
Finally I attached a piece of felt to the bottom of each tile. This helps keep them from ruining your tables and also gives them an added layer of protection in case you drop them!
That was it, pretty easy! I hope she loves them!
