In case you missed the other post in this series you can find it here.
I absolutely love love love the way my skin feels after I use a sugar scrub, and after spending far too much money buying them over the years I decided that I could make my own at home! Let me tell you this was one of the easiest recipes I’ve ever done and the results are amazing!!
Sugar Scrub Recipe:
You use 2 parts sugar (regular white or brown sugar work great) to 1 part oil (almond, olive and coconut are all equally good) and then add your ingredients, and mix together well.
Here are some fun combinations, a couple of my favorites and then a few seasonal ones!
- Vanilla & Brown Sugar Scrub: 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup oil and 1 tsp real vanilla extract
- Citrus Hand Scrub: 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup oil and 15-20 drops of lemon, lime or orange essential oil
- Coconut Lime Scrub: 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup coconut oil and the zest of one lime
- Pumpkin Pie Scrub: 1 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 cup oil and 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spices (or just cinnamon)
Because it is the holiday’s and this post is part of my easy gift series, here are some fun printable labels to make the gift giving that much easier! Simply print them onto letter size sheets of sticker paper, cut them out or use a 2″ punch and stick them on your jars. I used old glass baby food jars (which I got on Craigslist for free) and spray painted the lids in fun colors. Then finish it off with some twine, washi tape and a gift tag! These make lovely hostess gifts (hello Thanksgiving), stocking stuffers, teacher gifts or co-worker gifts!
