*disclaimer- my laptop died the other day, seriously tragic. I am doing all my blog work between my phone and my hubby's laptop. neither one of these are ideal and so my pictures are pretty sucky. sorry* I have been putting off painting and decorating my sons room until I was fairly certain that I had a plan that could grow up with him. He really wanted an Avengers bedroom, and I spent hours searching Pinterest and other blogs trying to figure out the exactly right combination of fashion and ... Read the Post

Dream Catcher Embroidery Hoop
So maybe you remember that I started off this year with a plan to complete 6 pinterest pins. I've only completed 1 so far (my laptop cover) so I really need to get going! That's where this project comes in...I love dream catchers, they are delicate looking and can be customized to match any decor. I started off with a 8 inch embroidery hoop. I don't crochet so part of the hold up was finding a pre-made doily that was the right size. Luckily my neighbors had a garage sale a few weeks ago and I ... Read the Post
Loaded Baked Potato Salad
My family loves potatoes and so finding new and interesting ways to incorporate them into our dinners has been a real challenge. I mean how many nights can you eat roasted potatoes before they lose their goodness? I've been experimenting with different potato salads for a while now and I have had some real failures (it's hard because I don't eat mayo and that seems to be the basis of most potato salads) but I think I have finally hit the jackpot with this one! Loaded Baked Potato Salad 3 ... Read the Post

Home is where the wood sidewalks are…
Do you ever just get the urge to go home? Not your current home, because if you are anything like me you already spend too much time there, but your home of origin. Your mom's house. I told you once before that I grew up in a small town, a village if you will. The longer I spend away from there the more I want to go back. For some reason those wooden sidewalks and false front hold a special place in my heart and almost call me to come back to them. Now don't get me wrong, after about 3 ... Read the Post
Dining Room Reveal- Finally!
I just want to start by saying that I haven't been holding out on you, I just haven't felt quite like our dining room has been done. And it definitely isn't done in my opinion, but we have recently moved all our kids toys and art and other things out of the room that is supposed to be our dining room (that was serving as a playroom) and we are talking about moving the dining room in there and changing this little eat in space completely. I figure I should share it with you now before we move ... Read the Post

Ooey, Gooey S’ mores Cookies
I love summer! I love sleeping in, running in the sprinkler, impromptu play dates and camping! In the past my hubby and I would usually try to squeeze in one camping trip every year while the kids spent a couple of nights with grammy, but this year we decided the baby was old enough to take camping without it being too hard. So we have been camping up a storm! We kicked off camping season the weekend school got it and we are packing for our third trip already. One of my kids favorite parts of ... Read the Post
Five Strategies for Dealing with Picky Eaters
I have three kids and they have a tendency to be super picky eaters. My husband and I have struggled with this for years going back and forth between being sticklers for the kids eating what we make and just caving in just to make sure they eat something! I have found a new method that seems to be working (knock on wood) and is getting so many more foods into my kids. Here are a few of the things we have tried and some of the thoughts I have on each. The list This was the very first thing ... Read the Post
Fabric Covered Dresser Drawers
One of the best parts about living in an old house is the fun built ins that usually come along. We have some great ones in or living room, but our middle daughter has two full built in dressers in her room! One of them is in her closet (it holds all of her dress up clothes) and one tucked away behind her door. This is the one that holds all of her regular clothes. After I painted her bedroom purple the old wood totally stood out and not in a good way. It wasn't super high quality or pretty wood ... Read the Post
Easy DIY Trophies for Party Prizes
So I was going through all my old drafts and found this one from back when I had my "dirty thirty" party! It is a simple tutorial on how to make fun trophies. I used them as prizes for best dressed at my party, but I imagine you could use them for anything! Now that it is summer time you could whip up a couple to use for your own backyard Olympics or obstacle course! I knew I wanted there to be prizes for dressing up for my birthday and so I went to our local goodwill originally looking for ... Read the Post
Bok Choy & Noodle Salad with a Peanut Sauce Dressing
In an effort to learn how to use all of the new foods being sent to us every week in our CSA I have been combining some of my favorite recipes with some new vegetable friends. We received a few bunches of baby bok choy this week and I'll be honest, I'd never cooked with any kind of bok choy before. I decided that I would use it like a lettuce/cabbage and make an Asian inspired salad. I started by chopping the bok choy horizontally into bite sized pieces. I shredded a couple of baby carrots ...
